NYC to Australia flights

Hi,
I've been looking around for tickets to Australia from NYC from the beggining of February until about half way through. Tickets now seem to be very expensive. ($1500-$1700)
Anyone with any ideas?

I looked on older forums and couldn't seem to find anything. If anyone has any help it would be appreciated.

Using points may be an option well worth looking into (if you don't have, you can buy (and no, I don't sell)) .

Nebach... you could have gotten half that price yesterday, with wideroe.

Did you see yourself these tickets? I looked and only found ex-MEL w/o YQ.

MEL/SYD-NYC during most dates in FEB priced out at $715-$815.

I checked for a while and couldn't find, that's why I'm curious if you managed to find.

ETA: could be it was dropping, but it was still expensive?

That's a sore subject....kept trying to book I had for $921. The site kept crashing..until the deal went dead.

 i agree with the points option for $1700 u might get a bussunes class ticket with points. (i dont either sell :D)
