Driving from Silver Spring to NYC for shabbos. Is "Thanksgiving traffic" heavier on Wednesday or Thursday morning/afternoon?

Leave thurs evening, favorite night to travel. Freeways are deserted.

Wednesday is supposed to be much worse than Thursday.
