My DVR for my security camera system died the other day anyone have any recommendations for a new one?
I have 8 cameras running through COAX

I would like as cheap as possible but it must have an app to view from anywhere

I'm looking to install cameras in my home and I would like some advice.

Should I install standard wired cameras with a DVR or should I go with a wifi camera?

If I should go with a wifi camera, which one is a better option, the Nest, Arlo, or something else?

TIA!

Do you want a screen on all the time showing you the feed?
if so hard wire

if you want to do the job yourself and just have cameras and just be alerted of motion or just check in wired

Would the blink home system dan posted now fit the needs for a standard security system mostly for the occasional accident, incident... and indoor to keep an occasional check on cleaning help, without complicated setup ?

Or any better recommendations?

Super easy set up

but not great for constant live viewing
as that would drain the battery
it's great for occasional check in and alerts

No set up
no wires

Just priced out to wire my house (indoor and outdoor) and price is approx $4000 with units for 6 camera's (labor intensive)
Any options for an easy wireless (battery or solar) units? Just need for basic viewing safety (check up on kids,) or for security. Concerned with shabbos if motion sensor.
