I can't find the thread but there was a price mistake on an iPod touch over the summer -also from a private seller- and people did get compensated by amazon.

That was amazon themselves or Amazon fba so they're responsble.  I did get a few of those back then

You could try get compensation by contacting customer service.
On a side note, all this with comments about the ethics please post in the thread "is it ethical?" Not here. There's so much hating and weird stuff going on in this thread... Like "he lost his business... Isn't that sad? "imagining hes a Jewish seller, this would be terrible ." and if he is a goy thats OK?

What did you guys expect! This isn't some big online retailer that can absorb the loss, this is an Amazon seller that has been painstakingly building their reputation on a website that doesn't make it easy for you to make money. They make a pricing error I don't expect them to ship. Anyone that leaves them negative feedback is an idiot...

Little story.. Friend of mine sells on amazon just got return of 180 dollar item listed as broken item was fine he takes full hit can't resell as new because it was opened and amazon doesn't reimburse him... sure enough guy lives in lakewood.. people don't realize that not only are they stealing there is a good chance they are stealing drom jews on amazon

I think I heard with some retailers, the manufacturer must take back all returns. Ie costco

Big companies have that advantage because they will just short the invoice to the manufacturer by as many units were returned..  a guy at Macy's told me they do that.
