How To Sell (a car) on Craigslist

I want to list a car for sale on Craigslist. I'm wary of putting my real phone number up. Any ideas for a temporary number that forwards to my cell? I would like both voice and text.

Any general tips to avoid being scammed, having my organs harvested, etc..?

I have a GV widget on my phone. I am able to send /receive texts and turn on the calling that they should be made with my GV #

I doubt it, but I can only tell you based off myself and I don't have an iPhone.

Even without a smart phone, you just call you gv # from you phone and you'll have the option to make a call.

I don't recommend that you put a number down. If there is a serious buyer they will send you a e-mail through craigslist.
Based on the messages you receive you can choose to send them your number to discuss further. Many people will even send
you their number first. You will also receive many scam e-mails asking if they can send a check, money order, Wire.... Etc delete them.
This  advice is based on my own experience selling cars and many other items on craigslist!  Happy selling :-)

i so far got 2 different requests to buy it for $520 or $530 thru paypal and ship it.

i turned them down bec it seems shady. they can get it for cheaper on ebay.

is there any way that its legit? if they pay thru paypal and u send with signature required, what can they pull?

Stick to cash, meeting in public places I.e. phone store.

Trying to sell the same. I've gotten offered 750 to ship. They are a SCAM and will send fake pay pal emails saying that they sent some money and will send the rest after you send a tracking number.

All have the same story. That they're in their us army bunkers sending presents to their sons.....

Know your cars resale value. Craigslist is a good start. NK.

If your car is salvaged, do yourself a favor and list it as such. I hated calling up people only to find out they were selling salvage because they didn't want to say so. Waste of my time, and seems dishonest.

Test drives are expected, even highway.

When they email then the title comes automatically.
I was saying when they text for some reason the title is always included in the text (probably because they are using some online texting program and they just copy and paste your title into their text.

I would assume it's because they want your email or phone number. This does happen by legit buyers, just its a pattern I've found by scammers
