Isn't it a chiyuv?  Why ask people to admit that they don't?
If you don't care why would you comment?

Chasidim used to say that the discernable difference between the kotzker chasidim and the lubavitcher chasidim (which were very alike in their chassidus and avoda) was that the lubavitcher chasidim would do shnayim mikra...

I only perused the article, but I'm a bit confused as to the particular connection between not doing shnayim mikrah in grade school and going off the derech, which he seems to focus on pretty heavily.

I think his point is that people go off the derech bc they can't read or learn properly, and this will help for that

I guess you didn't read it either, because I've gone back and read through it to be sure. He does not elaborate on the purported connection, he just keeps repeating it throughout the article. Maybe you'd be so kind as to go through it and explain how going off the derech is related to not doing shnayim mikrah?

According to most poskim you are yotzei lechatchila by reading the chumash and learning just the Rashi.
Since every frum jew should probably be familiar with chumash rashi anyway, the easiest way is just to go over the chumash rashi when you have time. Much more stimulating than reading targum that you probably don't understand.

gac. Its too long for me to read the whole thing yet, but that was how I understood the gist of what he was saying. It's also the only fathomable connection I could make

As an FYI (i heard from my rebbi) the mitzva is with posuk twice and rashi (or targum) on it BUT if there is no Rashi on the Posuk then Targum (Unkolus) must be said in the Rashi's place.

Maybe more interesting but way more time consuming.

This is at odds with MB who says to read the passuk 3 times.

+1, just glossed over the end, assuming he was saying to fill in the 'missing' psukim with mikrah, not targum.

Other poskim dont require. Also many dont agree with the M"B re repeating the posuk a third time.

BTW Always follow your LOR not some guy online!  :)
