  Truth is it isn't, its way more difficult to work on - the drive has major firmware issues and is an all around nightmare. What makes it harder is that most manufacturers followed WD and started making the same USB Drives. Seagate is one of the last few that make it right.

Seegate is better than Toshiba? Tigerdirect has a toshiba 1TB for $50.

This Seagate drive is more dependable because the USB doesn't plug directly into the drive - it plugs into a small detachable board.

...As far a reliability - they are equally unreliable and have the same firmware corruption issues which is mainly because of the onboard USB interface vs the native SATA interface. I was comparing this to the Toshiba Deal listed which has the same 1 year warranty as well and pretty much the same design flaw.
Also for the record - it does contain the same internal drive only different casing..

2 of any. I don't like any WD Passport - I prefer the Seagate portable drives. Desktop are pretty similar for the most part. Try checking reviews before you buy and if the data is valuable then buy 2 drives
