basically here. https://enroll.amexnetwork.com/US/en/Amazon/
thanks. Did the first page and it seems like that's enough. But I didn't get any email and the second page  asks to sync to a social network so that confuses me. Am I good to go?

Just got a "thank you for using your registered card" email from amex after using my card on my habit. Let's see if it actually works.

I just realized how this could work with amazon payments.  Quite simple.

Amazon payments uses your current balance before using a new cc.  So all added gc's (each bought with a diff amex) will transfer as a payment.

Wouldn't work. Amazon GC balance and Amazon Payments balance are different.

When you put it like that, I realize you're right.  I just usually have zero balances in both.

IMHO it isn’t worth saving the extra money by making purchases with GCs to lose the return protection and added 1yr warranty that you’d get from using your amex card directly and only getting one $25 credit per transaction. A $300 TV will cost you $200 but when it breaks you're stuck with nothing. You can buy it for $275 and have that added insurance that is well worth it! Save the GCs for your subscribe and save purchases like diapers and household items!!

It's still worth it for things you wouldn't need insurance for eg books or household items

You make claims over 50% of the time? You're giving up $75 for an extra $150 in coverage. Though granted if you have diapers orders to use iron might as well

Agreed on large items where you need extra waranty etc, but I have yet to use return protection on amazon, they are quite good with returns if you ask nicely and play it safe. Ive returned after 11 months once.

Ugh.
It's 33.3% not just $25.
