Does anyone use Gilt frequently enough to know that if an item is in your Waitlist, you get first dibs on it?

I don't, but I don't believe that anyone is stupid enough to not buy it if its in their cart.

If an item is sold out, you can add it to your waitlist. If you receive an email notification, this simply indicates the item has become available but does not reserve the item for you. The item won't be reserved for you until you add it to your shopping cart and checkout.

If you have Gilt Insider Noir Status then you get Waitlist priority.

Gilt insiders with a certain amount of points  (think its 500) have the option of shopping at 11:30 before the sales officially start at 12. So its possible that something will sell out before the sale officially opens.
