Paying mortgage payments with a credit card
« on: December 04, 2013, 10:04:53 PM »
Excuse my ignorance, but I'd appreciate if someone can clarify the following: Is it possible to pay for a mortgage using a credit card?  If so, how?  I saw a few people mention Bluebird as a possibility, but I'm unclear on how to do that.  Any other options?

Does VR mean vanilla reload?  If so, can you please clarify the steps of how I can pay the mortgage with a credit card?  Are you saying that I should load our $3,000 onto a vanilla reload card with a credit card and then pay the mortgage through Bluebird?

Are there any other possibilities?

Read the wiki for more detail on how BB and VR works, but in a nutshell, you buy the VR cards at CVS and load them to BB.  $1000 a day/$5000 a month max.  Alternatively, you can setup BB as a checking account for AP.

From what I understand, the best way is by using a debit card that gives you miles, like the Suntrust delta card and using a service that charges a small fee to pay with that.

Any other options?  Someone mentioned asking your credit card for checks to use.  This didn't really make sense to me, but he claimed to do this for his car payments.  Anyone know if this is a possibility?

AFAIK, YMMV.  Some bank may consider it a CA, others may not, but will charge a % fee and/or interest.
