Rabbi is a Rosh Yeshiva at YU but shul has a more Yeshivish vibe than average.

Because her chiyuv kiddush only starts when her husband's does.
Every gerrer shteibel in the world has coffee before leining. Chocolate too, IIRC.
Presumably no chiyuv kiddush yet.
I had a thought that you can make coffee on kiddush since it's Chamar Medina, and you can make a mema nafshach kiddush. Would help  in the Lakewood kollel as well. Any thoughts from the poskim? @aygart

  You may need " bmakom seudah" which requires cake. See however Igros Moshe for extended discussion on this.

Started day 1 at 3:45, ended at 5:55 - just made it for tashlich.
Day 2, 3:30-5:00 - was eating milchik by 11:05
