Haven't had a chance to taste the 14 yet but I'm hearing raving reviews about it.
Had it Thursday night. IMHO Good taste, not as good smoothness. But not bad.
I'm not who you think I am.

Had it right when it came out and did not like it. Not smooth and bland taste IMO. I like bourbons and reg scotches better.

anyone here have a recommendation, Glenfiddich 14 or 15? 14 yr costs about $10 more than 15yr bc its got a hechsher on it.

Not sure if that's why it's $10 more or bc it's a recent release. Where I found it it was cheaper than the 15y, though, at $50.

I prefer Kirsch and tend to go with Etter and I believe they also have Birne (pear) but don't know about the pear being in the bottle.

Thanks! I've actually seen this bottle before myself.
Wonder if it's officially on any of the lists. I'll have to check out the European sites.

I'm a Kirsch fan myself.
Something I get from my Zaidy I suppose. :)

It's the Austrian in me. I will "cherish" it forever (even if most people I offer it to in the US can't stand it).

seems to be a machlokes CRC and Star K regarding general quidelines on tequila.

CRC: There are four types of tequila: Blanco (white/silver), Oro (brown/gold), Reposada (aged) and Anejo (extra aged). [Unflavored] Blanco is recommended without hashgachah, but the other three require certification to avoid concerns that flavor, color, and glycerin were added.

Star K: Tequila (Anejo, Resposado, Gold)
Certification status: Acceptable WITHOUT Certification
Description: Anejo, Reposado, Gold
Excluding : Flavored Tequila, when a worm is present or when labeled with the words "Burdeos, Sherry, Post, Madeira, Oloroso, Sauterne, Shiraz, Dual Cask Finish, or Double-Matured

Tequila (Blanco, Silver, White)
Certification status: Acceptable WITHOUT Certification
Description: Blanco, Silver, White
Excluding : Excluding Flavored Tequila or when a worm is present.

Does anyone have an explanation?

Evan Williams Single Barrel (2000 vintage), Barrel No. 1, 43.3% has a 95 rating and a MSRP of $26.00. Good luck finding it.
