As of now:
Best scotches
For 30-40: gentleman jack
For 40-60: ?
For 60-80: bolvini 14 yr Caribbean cask
For 80-100: glenlivet naddurah

Better suggestions are wanted!

Gentleman Jack is a Bourbon (previously stated)
Bolvini should be spelled balvenie
For 40-60 go with Balvenie 12 Yr Single Malt Doublewood or Cardhu

according to most, Tennessee whiskey is a straight bourbon whiskey. and even if you say its not a bourbon, why not? The product meets the regulatory criteria for classification as a straight bourbon.

It's not a bourbon because it doesn't taste like bourbon you are correct that it's closer to bourbon than scotch but it's still not bourbon

Its not bourbon because it is not made in Bourbon County Kentucky, and anything made outside that county can not be called bourbon. Ingredients wise though, it is a bourbon.

-1 Not true, to be called a bourbon it has to be made in america not in bourbon county.
Even though most bourbon are from Kentucky, that is because of the lime stone water, not a requirement for bourbon!

Glenlivet says to cut Nadurra with spring water.
No, I haven't.  I usually reserve that for some strong bourbon like Bookers.

The common ground here is the alcohol content.

Bourbons are usually sold at cask strength (depending on the year it usually ranges from 45% to 60%) Bookers specifically range at very high alcohol contents.

In contrast, generally scotch is already cut (watered down) to precisely 40% alcohol. Nadura is an anomaly and is uncut remaining like many a bourbon at it's original cask strength, in this case a potent 57% or so!
It will have a MUCH stronger bite than the average sipping scotch, hence if you want it to drink like a more traditional scotch ya gotta water it down!

I did now, so you are correct it is technically a bourbon but as is explained in the article it is different than regular bourbon and to me although it is better than scotch it doesn't compare to real bourbon

Jack Daniels is owned by Brown Forman. On the bottle it is listed as a Tennessee Whiskey. However if you go to other bourbon plants owned by them (like Woodford Reserve) they are very quick to point out that Jack theoretically is a bourbon. At the very least it is crafted in the bourbon style.

That's not true. Most Kentucky bourbons aren't produced in Bourbon County. Towns like Louisville, Frankfort, Versailles, Loretto, etc. all are outside of Bourbon County. Take a look at any Bourbon Trail map.
