Finally had a chance to taste it, was absolutely delicious. Opened and closed the bottle Friday night it's definitely up there on my list of favorites.

had both Friday night, I liked the 14 better than the 15, found it to be less harsh..

i was at the buffalo trace distillery and they do not outsource the entire process is done by them

There are other companies that use their distillery and the question can arise if they ( being the buffalo trace distillery, supposedly owned by a Jew) ever really owned it

Pappy van winkle is an example of another company that has buffalo trace make their bourbon

I did also hear that a kashrus organization convinced them to start selling their chametz, but that only will help a couple of years down the line...
I have no source, but it was the same guy who informed me it was assur, so he seemed to know what he was talking about.
Anyone know anymore?

A Lil ot, but I have great maaseh about Buffalo Trace. I had gone to the distillary on my Kentucky Trip, and unknowingly decided to buy a bottle of the stuff.
A week later, I was flying intl and my suitcase was overweight, so without thinking I transferred a heavy shoebox to my carry-on.
Of course the shoebox had my bottle and TSA took it away
Anyway, I call my friend to complain about dumb TSA and he informs me that the bottle was not actually kosher...they say Hashem doesn't let Tzaddikim sin.

Just a note for those to whom this makes a difference the label clearly states that sherry casks were used.

Does anyone invest in whiskey?  Someone asked me for some help.  They want to spend about $500-$700 a month buying bottles (or bottle).  Any personal guidelines would be great (I did some research online already).
