Fiddich 14 or Livet founders reserve?

FR is awful. Don't know what Glenlivet were thinking. See Jim Murray's Whisky Bible for further proof.

Still comes our to be $200 with shipping to America thank you though

No problem although if you want my opinion the Quinta Ruben is the best of the lot.

Signet is fancy bottle etc but QR is comparable in taste and fraction of the cost.

There's a store in Williamsburg thats selling it for $170. Maybe see if your local liquor shop will price match.

How much would a comparable order be if you bought from your local liquor shop? That's the way I look at it..

Any recommendations on which to get ? Budget is between 1000-1500
Also need them for next week so not sure shipping is still an option..

if ur looking for random suggestions of 50 to 200 dollar bottles i can give you plenty.
is sherry cask a problem for you? what about bourbon from buffalo trace distillery (chometz sheavar alav hapesach)?
fiddich 14 and 19 are excellent bottles
livet 15 and 18
wild turkey 101 is a good bang for your buck

yes both those things are a problem thanks for pointing them out.

id like to have some of the classics out like you mentioned but also a few bottles that are a little different or not so well known

depends what your looking for... 15-20 as a collection for investment? drink? simcha? do you need these bottles to impress or what is considered a excellent bottle. [I am personally particular to bourbon or rye]
IMO you cant go wrong for drinking and a simcha with anything from willet which includes the classic pot still bottle, any of the family reserve bottles (if you can find it), rowans creek, noahs mill, and old bardstown. additionally pretty much any old forester will work well for you. Jack Daniels single barrel.
on the more collectible end it gets a little nuts and prices jump significantly. if you see anything from orphan barrel worthwhile to pick up (although be wary of pricing as ive seen people mark it up by 80-90% over msrp). any of the barrel proof elijah craigs bottles, michters,  holy cow this list can go on and on...

thanks for the detailed response.
It's for a wedding and shabbos sheva brachos
So need a couple of the classic and then some nicer bottels for the "mavinim"

But are they really "Mavinim" or do they only think they are? The selection is different depending on that question.
