It is manufactured overseas.
I am going to assume if a hechsher recommends a product its because they've looked into it, no?

One of my many emails...this ones from KLBD.

American Kashrut Authorities only permit alcoholic drinks which are kosher certified or supervised. In the UK, it is more difficult to obtain such drinks and so the LBD allows products like Baileys which are not certified but have been checked by detailed correspondence with the manufacturers. It is preferable, where possible to buy supervised or certified products.
We recommend that you follow the advice of your local kashrut authority.

I know it covers more than one flavor. I can't remember if its for all. Check out their recommended lists online. Its on their sites.

np - As for Southern Comfort that's a bit more complicated. I believe different people have different opinions depending on where it comes from. I know that you could even buy it with a hechsher a few years ago.

Some of the bottles have hechsher issues because of whey.

i don't know the answer but I'm curious, is that special edition a special Kedem run?

(at first i thought there would be no point, even for those who are makpid as rum isn't wine based but then i saw this on the Angels Envy's website: "We chose rum barrels that had previously been used to age French cognac")

Tour is 8 dollars each, but if you buy a bottle, the tour is free. Bought a bottle of rye for 39, so it really cost me 23 bec I did the tour regardless.
The chocolate is really amazing. But 10 bucks for a bar.
The whiskey is excellent, but it isn't made by them yet. Their stuff is not on market yet, but meanwhile they are selling stuff that they bought from a different micro-distillery (I'm guessing the other one went out of business before it could get it's stuff to market, but it is excellent regardlessly).

The Credited Response: Go at 1:00 next sunday. Go Kayaking at Red Hook Boating for free which is 2 blocks away (parking is no problem at all), then do 4:00 tour at distillery/chocolaterry, then buy bottle of rye and bar of chocolate.

The caveat: We were the only ones on the tour and the tour guide was umm not exactly dressed to R. Falk's standards.

No, it is not a Kedem run.

hmmm I bought it without a hechsher since it said rum casks.....
