If I go to b and h would they have everything in the store?
I have a Pentax k-50 dslr.
Would there be a place closer to Monsey where I can get the remote trigger, etc...

B&H would have everything. Open tomorrow 10-6.

I'm not aware of anything particular closer to Monsey...

That lookout is at the Ledges. It's pretty in the summer, but quite boring in winter :(.

Bridal Veil falls seems to be difficult to get to in winter, but Blue Hen falls seems similar but more accessible.
The lookout I was talking about is near bridal veil falls which I think is in Bedford Reservation, at side of the road nothing official . I happen to love lookouts in the winter so pristine and beautiful but that's just MHO
Getting to bridal veil falls involves mainly going down  a whole bunch of wooden steps, so in winter depends on the recent weather I guess.

Assuming my shipments come in time I'll have pretty much everything on the list.
I did order the 75-300mm lens in the end.
I only ordered a CP and 3 stop ND filters, no Grad or 8/10 stop ND.

So the only thing I'm relying on you for is the remote trigger. (and maybe a fast prime if you can get a hold of one)

Now on to the cold weather gear...

I'm not spending $300 on something I'm never gonna wear.

Now on to the cold weather gear...

Picked this up at Kmart earlier - http://www.kmart.com/athletech-men-s-winter-coat/p-046VA70284612P?prdNo=2&blockNo=2&blockType=G2.

The only thing in the store that kinda fit me. I'll bring along a sweatshirt so I could wear it underneath if needed.

Nah. I've got my entire shul (well at least the married guys who don't need to be fashionably impractical) converted over from silly wool coats to the LL Bean.  Probably now is finding my coat amongst all the others :P

Here's what I have so far for you guys:
  • 58mm ND and CP filters for alpicone
  • 40.5 to 58mm step up ring + 58mm ND and CP filters for Dan (sorry couldn't get my hands on 40.5mm filters)
  • Tripod for alpicone
  • Radio remotes + receivers for whYME and alpicone
  • Remote + homemade radio-to-infrared receiver for Dan

I'll see if I could pick up a fast prime or two, too.

Am I forgetting anything?

Is this comment what started this whole DO? Was just reading SF's TR and now I see where all the pics are from.

In a way. That prompted the learn photography thread, which prompted this :D.

Not too many late flights from CLE.

Using the top 100 US airports listed here, ITA is giving me the following 50 operations (22 departures, 28 arrivals) Sunday night between 8 and 10 at night. Looking at 9 to 10, it's only 15.

And these are only from 100 US airports, so there may be more (especially international flights). I'm not aware of a place where I could see all of those.

From the link Dan posted here, based on my research there are at least two spots which should be good for what we have in mind.

Hey! There's something I've been dying to shoot for ages - and it needs an airport at night! Great idea!

I'll post a picture of what I have in mind when I get home later, it's not actually as creepy as it sounds ;)
First thing that came to mind was this: http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/Guardian/Pix/pictures/2009/12/15/1260899750137/Plane-and-Moon-001.jpg
But its wont be a full moon and im imagining such a shot would be nearly impossible to compose.

What are the odds that LGA will be on-time by Sunday morning?

What are the odds that LGA will be on-time by Sunday morning?

They're expecting 6-10", and it should be over Friday morning. I don't think there'll be much of an issue Sunday morning.

It's not a big storm, and it's two days earlier.
