I think we can safely ignore the ordering on the wiki and just look back at the change log and include the first 8 people who edited the wiki (if they can make it).

I was planning on editing the wiki to have two columns; one for those who are down no difference when and where two for the Israelis and those who have lives

Unless they want to try to get SF to fly out there.
I'm sure that they can come up with the miles and there is a lot to photograph there.

cuyahoga falls may be the best, and Buttermilk falls is good. Will try and look back at hiking books over shabbos.

From a photographic standpoint, Buttermilk is not too interesting in winter. The falls themselves are very uniform, and the surrounding scenery is mediocre. There are only two viewpoints, so there's less variety in pictures:

My plan however was to shoot Blue Hen falls, a bit further downstream (and also a shorter hike). It's smaller than Buttermilk, but FAR more photogenic. The falls themselves take on interesting shapes, the surrounding scenery is nicer, and there are countless viewpoints and access points for different type of shots:

Cuyahoga falls is still the best place probably. It has a lake, big falls, the falls spray a lot which should create nice shots and spread ice, also it short hike to get there. Geodesic dome which is part of the metallurgical society should make for some nice shots but not so nature related.

I was focusing more on the park and north of it, since there a a million things to do there without going all the way down to Akron. From the little research I did on Cuyahoga Falls, it seems like the good pictures are to be had from the bottom, not the top, of the falls. It's a very steep hike down and didn't seem like it was very safe when there's ice.

JJ - any thoughts on the hike down?

Pretty sick weather in the forecast...

http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?CityName=Brecksville&state=OH&site=CLE&lat=41.3076&lon=-81.6185#.UsigQfRDt8E

http://forecast.weather.gov/showsigwx.php?warnzone=OHZ011&warncounty=OHC035&firewxzone=OHZ011&local_place1=&product1=Winter+Storm+Warning#.UsigRPRDt8E

Looks like Sunday will be snowing and 33 (good!), but Monday brings more snow and dangerously low windchills (up to -25 or -40, with frostbite possible within 10 minutes). It looks like that'll start around 10am, so a sunrise shoot may still be practical.

Anyway, there's actually a $30 special this sunday for lift pass+skiing or lift pass+snowboarding equip between 5 and 9pm... http://bmbw.com/ticket_specials.html
$25 for snow-tubing.

That is Cuyahoga Falls. Can spend the night there for sunrise pictures.

The sun won't illuminate the falls until 11:20, 3.5 hours after sunrise. It's definitely not a sunrise location.

Hiking down right next to them was easy from what I recall.

The sun won't illuminate the falls until 11:20, 3.5 hours after sunrise. It's definitely not a sunrise location.

I don't know the first thing about photography so if you find somewhere you think is better don't let me suggestions hold any water.

Unfortunately I dont think I will be attending this DO :(
I spent about 1hr shooting in the snow in LI on Thur night during the storm and it was tough. I was all dressed warm but my hands were close to numb after constantly removing my gloves to chage settings.
Also be careful with your equipment. I used a "cheap" prime lens and my D300s has weatherproof seals, kept the lens cap on when not shooting and pointed away from the wind.
At one point I tried to pop up my flash, but the snow had it stuck in place.
