Continuing from here...
Headlamp/flashlight, preferably with a red light. Warm clothes.

Why?  Is that to maintain night vision?

Thanks. I was wondering why my headlamp i bought to use for night grilling on my porch had a red light. Although it is actually a flashing red light IIRC. not sure what that is for.

The flashing light would be a signal, weather for biking, walking alongside the road, etc. But if your lamp has a flashing red light I'm fairly certain there's a mode where it just stays on for night vision. I never heard of having one without the other

It was 6.99 and #1 amazon best seller. Can't really complain since the primary use is for night grilling :)

Wow, weird. Why they would rather implement a more complicated feature (flashing) than a simple, more useful one is beyond me...

From the actual youtube page:

800 images taken over an hour were combined to create this movie. It was taken from just South of Brighton Otago, in New Zealand's South Island

Northern Lights show seen from my flight to Fairbanks Alaska on March 2, 2015. It a unique perspective seeing from from the air.  It was amazing to see it with my own eyes.  And the show lasted about 15 mins. These pics were shot using a Leica digital with manual setting of  iso 3200 f 2.0  1/4 sec
