I guess now's as good a time as any to get started on a packing list ;)

Camera gear (see below if you don't have everything)

Required:
- Camera
- Wide-angle lens (18-55, 16-50, 24-70, etc.)
- Enough memory cards (at least 16gb, the more the merrier)
- Camera bag (backpack or sling would be easiest to carry)
- Tripod (doesn't have to be anything fancy; so long as it supports your camera/lens combo and extends to a comfortable height it'll be fine)
- Spare camera battery (absolutely vital. Batteries don't last long in the cold)
- Battery charger

Optional:
- Second camera (just in case, or for a specific reason. I'm bringing my GoPro).
- Longer (telephoto) lens
- Other lenses (macro, fast primes, etc.)
- Circular polarizer filter for your wide lens (the filters should really be required, but I assume not everyone has them - see below)
- Neutral density filter (either variable, or a 2/3 stop and a 8/10 stop)
- Graduated neutral density filter (soft, 2/3 stops)
- Another spare battery (pretty much required for mirrorless and P&Ss - their batteries don't last nearly as long at DLSR ones.)
- A way to carry your tripod (either built-in. On your camera bag, or a shoulder strap or similar. Will make your life easier.)
- Remote trigger (Preferably wireless. Vital for shooting long exposures)

I know that some (all?) of you don't have everything in this list. Some things are a good idea to get anyway, so you may as we'll get them now (like a tripod or spare battery). Others (like filters or tripod straps) may not be very high on your shopping list. In that case, give me your camera info and I'll try to bring the stuff along. I could probably bring a tripod or two, filters, straps, batteries, and who knows what else. I'll need your camera and lens models (I know they're buried somewhere in this thread, but send them to me anyways ;)), and what you're missing.

I'm sure I forgot some things; I'll update this list as I (or anyone else) remembers them.

Added something above (in bold).

Other stuff:

- Proper clothing. We'll be spending lots of time outdoors in the cold - make sure you have a good jacket, gloves, hat (vital), etc. Layers are best. Good shoes/hiking boots, preferably waterproof. For gloves try using something that still allows you to control your camera. I use these and love em.
- Chemical warmers. These are a life saver in crazy weather, and they'll keep your batteries going longer.
- Hiking poles. Will make your life easier, especially if there's fresh snow on the ground.
- Protein/granola/whatever bars. I always keep a couple in my pack.
- Headlamp/flashlight. For sunrise/sunset or night shoots.

1. between the Vari & Solid ND, which would you recommend?
2. If I would only spring for the Hoyas by one or two of these, which would you say are more important?

Is there a specific reason to go wireless for this trip, or are you just saying wireless is better in the long run?

1) Solid and vari do the same thing, the vari just does the job of a couple of solids. If you want to splurge, go for the vari (should cost at least $90) otherwise get a solid or two, much cheaper.

Now if your question was solid vs. grad, then I'd say that solid is more important now, since without it you won't be able to get that silky look on waterfalls.

2) The CP for sure.

This is weird. The 8:25 flight is ~60% empty, but hasn't had 4.5K availability in 2 weeks. The 10:05 has 4 seats left in the entire plane, but has been available more or less all the time.

What gives?

I'm trying to tie up some loose ends, as well as finalizing shoot locations. I think this is a good rough schedule so far - everyone please chime in with thoughts/comments/suggestions:

Sunday 6:25 am: Earliest tallis & tefillin. Have to figure out if we could daven before the airport, or in airport/on the plane.
7:00ish: Leave to airport. If the three of us are all from Brooklyn it probably makes sense to carpool.
8:25 - 10:05: Flight.
10:20: Rent a car? See below.
11:00ish: Meet up with Dan and YankyDoodle. Head down to Cuyahoga.
11:30 - 6:00ish: Shoot, shoot, shoot. We'll cover a couple different locations; waterfalls, streams, lakes, bridges, woods, cliffs. Sunset is at 5:11. Head back to CLE. Dinner, maariv, etc.
Later on: Possible night shoot (CLE skyline? I found some interesting spots).

Monday 6-6:30 am: Wake up and leave for sunrise shoot. Head back to Cuyahoga, or possibly the lake. Great light starts around 7, actual sunrise 7:52.
9-9:30ish: Back in CLE, daven shachris. @Dan and YD - still minyanim around at that time?

12:25: Flight back to LGA.

Some questions:

- From reading the entire CLE thread it seems that you gotta get donuts from Ungers and bagels from the Bagel Shoppe, or else. @ CLE guys - is this still the case?
- Are we renting a car? Dan offered to drive us around Cuyahoga, but maybe we should rent something for to/from CLE, shul, food, etc. I have res. with Hertz for $38 (2 days, final cost), and National for $73 (this will get me another free day through 1 2 free, so it may be worth it for me). Should I keep it, or could anyone get a better rate? Or do we not need a car at all?
- What are we doing about a hotel? Alpicone I see booked the Sheraton at the airport - @ whYME did you book anything yet? Or are we sharing a room/rooms?

Whaddya all think?

Of u rent with hertz and have the platinum card, won't you just need to rent for one day, with the four hour grace period?

I'm currently plat-less :(. In any case, it priced out as 1 day + 3 hours @$2.77 each, so at least they're not actually charging me for 2 days.

I see that BA is showing only 2 seats left now. Was that you snagging one?

Overall the schedule sounds good to me.

I haven't really put any thought in to car or hotel until now.
for the hotel, considering that I don't think we'll be hanging out there much, basically just catching a few hours of sleep between shoots  , I'd like the cheapest, most convenient option. I don't know how much cheaper than 4k SPG you can go, but I'm not sure where the airport falls on the convenience scale considering that we're not taking an early morning flight...
If we're staying at the airport it would probably make sense to rent a car.  (Unless Dan wants to do a lot of shuttling)

I'm currently plat-less :( .
I have a plat and Hertz President's Circle if it's needed.

Why do we have to schlep all out there in the snow and cold for a lesson and not just shoot, let's say, NY skyline our the Jersey one
