I just tried it from a computer located inside the US using Teamviewer. The option for "image upload" was missing. All that came up for deposits was a link for their mobile app.
Customer service transcript
You: How can I deposit a check from my PC?
Helen: That is not an available feature. You would need to do it via cell phone to make a mobile deposit.
You: Until very recently I was doing it for my 360 account.
Helen: Right, that was previously an option. It has been removed while we update the website and may be back on a later
date but it is not currently an available feature.
You: Is there any time-frame being offered?
Helen: Not currently.
Helen: Definitely keep an eye out though.

Somehow I'm still skeptical.

Assuming your son is learning there already.
There's a bank on the corner of kikur shabbos straight down meih shiarim street, in geula. Called bank of poalim, it overs free withdrawals from the atm, but that's aside for the fees your debit card charges.

TD premier checking. No fees. (Must have $2,500 in the account)
Do you know if I can upgrade a siblings account who's has a student accnt to a premier account so he can use the card to withdrawal money? Or do you need to do that in the bank?
(yes there's a few K in the accnt that's not the problem.)
Anyone remember here how mnay withdrawals allowed per month?
(not worth calling if I can get an answer here,as td wait times are horrible, minimum 30min.

You should be able to do the upgrade with a call to your branch.  No limit to number of withdrawals. Daily limit on the card.

I received an email from them yesterday, and confirmed on the phone with rep (who was not aware of this) that they stopped web browser uploads, only can use phone app. :(

Maybe this was mentioned here - Leumi started taking 3.5% on the exchange - a message shows up on screen on the ATM. A teller told me that they stopped being "freiers" supporting USA banks by letting you take out USD for no fee, so you now can only take out SHek and pay...

I withdrew from there yesterday and got 3.41 rate, then took from Mizrahi Tefahot ATM and got around 3.51

GCT!

There has been the option to get ripped off for a while, but there was a way around it by chosing to be charged in shekel.  Did you not get that option?

Cap 1 finally decided to admit that they officially removed the PC option. I got that email as well.

Bank Leumi's ripoff exchange rate has been stuck at 3.40 for a while. You should press the option on the LEFT side of the screen to get charged in Shekels and then your bank will decide the rate. The only real change with Leumi which has no solution (AFAIK) is no more foreign currency withdrawals on foreign cards.

You took out from Mizrachi with foreign card?

Why don’t you just use Chase and transfer funds to capital one 360 to pull out the funds with real time rates ?

Which is close to the rate on Oct 1. I also took out shekel from RE Leumi on Oct first and didn't get the option to get billed in dollars and got the same rate. So it would seem there's no real issue.

Maybe they changed it back (or hid a 1/2% fee in there).

I don't know where they can hide a fee if I can see the amount of dollars that come out of my account.

Correct.  When I googled the rate, it was about $1 off.

On Oct. 1 the mid-rate didn't go below around 3.535. The rate DanH got is about 1/2% lower. (Still a good deal though.) On the screen they showed you the amount in $ or ש"ח?

Oct 1 was a Sunday.  There's no real market on Sunday.  The rate we got was the rate Visa (or MC) was giving at the time.  It always lags the market.  Sometimes that's to your advantage, sometimes to your disadvantage. In any case, no fee here.

Onscreen I selected an amount of shekel and no amount was showed subsequently.

Was at Leumi this afternoon, this time used a diferent machine (the one further in, so if you're facing the wall on the right immediately after walking in, its the left machine), and I was prompted to choose to pay in shekels vs use conversion. Another difference between this time and last time, last time i used one of the amounts they suggest (iirc 200 or 400), this time i chose the "choose amount" option.
