help for stranded travelers

Hi Everyone -

My wife and a friend of hers flew into NY from Chicago today on AA to unfortunately pay a shiva call (thank you Dan and BA Avios!!) - were supposed to return tonight but due to weather here in chicago - all small planes have been cancelled.  AA is swamped with calls and you can't get through - they claim that they will call you back.  Big planes are still flying and there are flights on United and USAirways still going...  Any advice on how to get through to American and get a real live person and how to convince them to switch them to another carrier today?

Send a tweet to @americanair tell them the flight number, and tell them exactly which US air flight you want to be on, first check if it's available. (Selling tix etc.)

as of now - they have a new flight on Delta...let's hope it doesn't get cancelled as well!!

yeah - in the end they were able to get it done over the phone - but I appreciate the good idea and your helpfulness regardless - I was ready to tweet if necessary!  Thanks again!
