Trying to get to Israel in 2017
« on: December 10, 2013, 10:58:34 AM »
I currently have the Delta Amex and the HAS advantage card.  I would like to fly a family of 5 to Israel summer 2017.  Can you please give me advice on the best way to go about this.  I appreciate your input.

Welcome to the forums, Goesti!

The forums are not really a place to just start a new thread and post a Q expecting people to offer advice.

If you're planning a trip for 2017, then you have plenty of time to read through the forums. I learned more than enough on just 2 weeks.

Start off by browsing the blue "Wiki" threads at the top of the threads list and then pick different threads to read through based on relevancy. Threads on the different credit cards are a good place to start. The thread about Bluebird will teach you how to hit the spending threshold to get the big CC signup bonuses without spending a lot of actual money. And many more...

Good luck!

I don't think you're giving yourself enough time. Don't you think you may be rushing things a bit? :P

Must be for a bar mitzvah. Can anyone think of another explanation?

Welcome. Short answer? Start opening CCs. Earn points to use or sell and voila.
But read up before you do.

If you start walking now you should be close to Israel by 2017.

Not trying to be rude, just what everyone said here, start reading up, open some new cards with nice sign up bonuses. It might seem complicated at first, but it get's easier.  :)

I don't think scheduled funerals that far off are legal in Israel, try Switzerland.

GoEsti, welcome to the group. I would read up on opening credit cards and earning points. You can accumulate enough in a year if you're making credit cards for you and anyone else over the age of 18. Hope you have good credit ! Good luck.

Oh, and I have just one more word of advice....

Go Esti!  :)

If you don't get scared off, you will have enough miles by 2017 to fly your whole family plus everyone who made silly responses on this thread.
