Can book multiple airlines (including Singapore) on one award, will just be with the Star Alliance award chart and no 15% discount. Also there will probably be fuel surcharges on those flights.

okay just booked one way NYC-tlv using Krisflyer miles but taxes came out to like $24-31 dollars instead of the approx $5 that i see on United  pages??

Areoplan also charges more. Just paid $25 on aeroplan on a flight that was $5 on ua

Strange.  Taxes should be the same no matter how you book; unless Singapore or Aeroplan are assessing a charge of their own?

You mean airlines are the ones that can choose to impose certain taxes or not?  Specific Airline taxes are not mandated by federal regulations?
