Can I upgrade an EXISTING SQ  booking 12.5K EWR>SFO from Economy to J\Buisness First on UA Metal with SQ points? if yes how, do I need to cancel the existing SQ booking then start a new booking?.

Yes - PUTPAC, it will cost you a $20 change fee.

Change to later date for free then cancel (assuming SQ metal).

How big is the area to store your carry on suitcase in SQ R? Some suitcases push the limit of carry on size, but since it's not an overhead bin I wanted to know if it would fit.  Same goes for an oversized personal item, a stuffed backpack.
