Hi All,
I've flown with SQ miles before but never for Suites Savers, and I've never had to deal with all waitlists...
So, the story is: I've been trying to book since last January for 2 pax SQ Suites LAX-SIN-MNL (A380 and 777), and before choosing, I checked every single day starting March 22 up until April 8 and even beyond, just to see what the heck was going on. Lo and behold, all Suites Savers were on waitlist status. So, I got proactive and waitlisted every single day from March 22 to 29 as I have to be at a wedding by April 2, and the flight plan is like 30+ hours. The latest that we can end up in MNL is March 31st.
So, my questions are, is SQ just like CX where seats open up closer to the flight dates? Or shall I find another flight plan? I spoke to CS, and all they could say was that "they are not available, but things can change." What? I could see availabilities on the standard and the other one which require tons more points!!! What backup flight should I fly just in case? I have enough for UA on Y for two, but part of me doesn't want to do so because I would have to transfer points from Chase. What if SQ opens up? Then, my points would be stuck with UA. Also, what if I were to book Y or J on SQ instead? What happens if F opens up for the flight? Can I just upgrade to F from Y or J without penalty just like AA? Please help! Thanks in advance.
