I have a TLV-FRA-JFK LH F flight booked for tomorrow with SQ miles. The FRA-JFK flight was cancelled. What are my options if I want to switch to a flight to ORD, WAS, MCO etc. instead, and do I need to do it through Lufthansa or Singapore?

Get booked onto LX F via ZRH ;)

Is it worth booking now on a route with taxes in order to try and convince them to drop it afterwards?

I'm in the same boat but Singapore has been strict about all their rules every time I call so I think i'm just gonna wait.  I'm booking inter-asia for 12.5k miles so I'd rather not get the 15% teeny miles discount and not pay the couple hundred bucks in fees but if it was tons of points I think I'd book now since those points are still probably worth more than those fees and you do have small chance to convince them to drop them...

Thanks for the recommendation, I may try that. Also, would it still be possible to cancel my ticket now and get the miles back? Even though it's within 24 hours of the first flight?

You can always cancel within 24 hours for $75. They should waive the fee in this case.

i apologize if I sounded condescending at the end " tavaoi aleicehem bracha" didn't mean to  sound like that...but your poppy seed challah joke  is DEFINITLEY CONDESCENDING I've seen you say that joke  o all over this forum. If you were so educated and college oriented you wouldn't be spending a decent amount of time of your week on this forum. Another thing, its a pain in thebneckbfor exact proper annotation, elucidation ,and translation when using an iPhone.
The problem was purely with your lack of punctuation. If you want people to go out of their way to answer your questions, take the time to write as clearly as possible. Nobody wants to read through a whole paragraph which is one long run-on sentence.
(Btw, almost all of my posting here is done from an iPhone so that's really not an excuse.)

Firstly, I used that line once in another thread that wasn't read by many. Secondly, I think you've proved yourself with this response.
I just remembered, the last time I used that line, I was referring to your post too!

Come on...poking fun at the way he wrote the question is not fair. The substance is way more open to ridicule. How, prey tell, will the "taxes" be any different if you book them 8 weeks out vs. Booking them for 2 weeks out? אלה מאי your חקירה is פשוט coming from a place ofשתות

FWIU his question is that a ticket originating in Israel has about half the yq of a ticket originating from the states, so he wants to make a ticket originating Israel and then change to originate from the states thinking that they won't reprice it for him. I don't know what will happen but I'm guessing that they recalculate the yq when you make changes so it wouldn't help but the question is interesting.
