close in fees
Isnt United the one who charges close in fees?
They charge YQ on most flights.
Whats YQ? Googled that. Fuel charges. Isn't United the one who charges more fuel charges?

I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

Whats YQ? Sounds like a seat class?
Fuel surcharges. I wouldn't advise transferring your points unless you had a specific redemption in mind.

No, United is the one that never charges YQ.

Why not? If Inited has a significant advantage over Singapore than it's worth adding to my portfolio. If Singspore is better or the same its not worth locking in my Starwood/Marriott into United...

Nobody is going to explain all this to you, do some reading here and on other blogs/forums into the pros and cons of each program. Remember that UA just got devalued and SQ is about to be.

From DDMS "Singapore does charge fuel surcharges for most partner airlines, but notebly they don’t charge any for travel on United. Thanks to a generous Star Alliance award chart, that means it can be quite advantageous to use Singapore miles for United flights."

Just so I understand correctly. Singapore doesn't charge fuel charges on United flight but will charge on other Star Alliance partners, where United does not charge even on partners. Correct?

Because if the fuel charges on non-United partners and future Singapore devaluation isn't moving some to United at this rate a good idea? Why would you advise against? Thanks.

Question:
I have miles stuck in Singapore because it used to be cheaper to fly United to Israel using Singapore Miles than United.
It now costs 90000 RT in Coach.

I booked a one way for 45000 it cost 23.68 for airport taxes instead of the united fee of 5.60.

From the US, what would you recommend would be the most bang for your buck for Krisflyer miles with the new devaluation?
Is Hawaii still a good bet?
Better for Europe via LH?

Thanks.

You can't mix standard award bookings with saver award bookings.

Is the new online booking showing all availability or is it better to check United?

The online booking did not show the United Saver availability for my flight.  I called Singapore and they said all the flights haven't loaded into their system yet and they booked without a fee.

Was wondering why the tax is slightly more than on United.  5.60 on United ...about $23 on Singapore.

You can stop in FRA or SIN.

Don't you need a round trip for a free stopover on SQ?

RT for saver, OW for Standard.
