any reason to keep pay stubs if i get a w2 anyway?
Two examples where you can be asked for them: if you file for unemployment benefits or SNAP benefits.

if you can be gone for 16 weeks, it says something about how necessary you are to your group
now, if you use those weeks to go get a new job, thats another story

-1. In large firms everyone is anyway easily replaceable. Lots of people leave and join each year, people transfer in and out of areas...

Unless you are in a small niche group. In a general tax or audit group there are tons of people that can fill your void.

100%   But is doesn't say something about the individual (ie - advice to make yourself indispensable or not to take 16 weeks off) rather the nature of the Big 4. At a smaller firm or in a niche group it's very different.

it says something about the individual. it could be many in the big 4 can be gone for 16 weeks and no one would notice, but there are those who ppl would notice, and that means it says something about the individual

There are plenty of frum guys at EY (and at other big companies that have 8-12 weeks). Find out how many of them ever used close to the full amount. Hint: it's very few. It is however very good for frum women, who are much more likely to actually use all their time.

Plenty take six that I know of. Noone cares as long as you schedule it during off season.

-1.

Where I work ppl only notice anything for 4-5 months of the year. It is then that you matter. And you better be there..

Rest of the time you just need to show up occasionally... personally I haven't done much work since pesach. It's working out just fine.

Yeah but even if there is technically work. If it's not a high pressure situation  where your personal experience or know how is necessary, (like busy season and this is your client from py, everyone is easily replaceable. Just a matter of scheduling.
So no excuse to work when the firm offers to pay you not to.

Not sure what you are trying to say.

It takes a lot of effort to get fired from a b4.... Expendable or not.

with the amount they pay their accountants in those first few years for the amount of work they do, why would they fire them?

whether or not you are in jeopardy of getting fired, you are not a key contributor if you can disappear for 16 weeks and your colleagues can get your work done for you. again, obviously not speaking about a time when you have no work to do
