If you actually worked for them and they actually paid you then there should be no reason that they shouldn't want to issue it. It would sound fishy in such a case.
Well asking for a friend:
He worked for them, received commission, did not receive a 1099, yet claimed the income on his schedule c anyways.
The company did not issue a 1099, and now does not want to after the fact. I am trying to figure out why not. I told him just the opposite, it would most probably be better for them to issue him one.
Just wanted to know if there would be any other reasons... (Before I contact them)
Don't forget this is from 2015, already files forms.
