2017-$0
2018- Your information is not available at this time. If you requested an adjustment to your account your information will not be available until that transaction is complete.

So I guess this means I should wait until it says -$xxxx? And then I need to call to request a refund? Or it happens automatically?
It now shows $0 owed for 2018. Does that mean I'll get the $**** refunded automatically or do I have to call?

What are the consequences of filing at 12:01 EST. FWIW Federal owed me, but I owed NY and NJ.

I've found that they typically will allow up to 1AM

I filed a 1040x for 2016 as i made a mistake in what i wrote about HSA contributions. I am due a refund.  I got the check today but the IRS deducted interest. Is that normal? I overpaid and then i get penalized? I understand if i owe money then there is a penalty, but wtf is this penalty?
Hell, they can keep the interest on the 2 years of overpayment! but deducting from it?

IMO the burden of such reporting is on the entity that the closing costs are paid on behalf of
Probably, but these thing are usually about who gave cash to who.

99% of the time 1099 are missed, and the attorneys get away with it. What else is new...

This is so bizarre, I would call the IRS and ask about it.

Update: I called today, (hold time was only 15 minutes) and they were super helpful. The reason the refund for the additional payment was held up, because I put my name first when I made the payment and on the tax return my DW's name was first.  ::)

They released the refund and I should get a check within a couple of weeks.

Good that it worked out for you.
Let's get that check (am accepting more checks, too. No bills. Have a whole stack of that) first.  :)
