If a w4 form isn't submitted to an employer the maximum amount is withheld. Correct?

What is that percentage?

I'm assuming you mean single with zero allowances.

What does that mean though? How do they know how much money to withhold? Do they figure based on an estimated salary which tax brackets you'll be in and then withhold the average of it?
My Tapatalk notifications don't always work.

How do taxes for someone living in Israel most of the year but wants to stay a US Resident.
Do they file taxes as a non US resident or they file taxes using the state they used to live in?

I have a tax question in case someone can assist me:

I live and incorporated in IL. I used to collect the sale tax from Amazon sale and file with the state monthly. Starting  01/01/2020, Amazon collects and remits tax for the state of IL. What I should do now?

Thank you in advance!

Hello there -

I deposited pre tax money into my 401A for the first 6 months of the year.

Then I switched jobs to a private company and put in pretax money.

Is there a total I can put into both combined?

Is it still 19K?

Worked 6 months each in two different states for the same company. How is state tax figured?
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say it depends on which states were talking about here... ;)

Lived and worked NV most of the year and everything else IL.
so if you established and can prove your domicile in NV you should be able to file as a NV resident and IL Nonres and apportion your income based on days WORKING in IL
and IL wont be able to challenge (if they are anything like NY.. expect them to be aggressive about it especially if you didn't change your mailing address, voting and DL etc)
But if you could prove it you should be ok
They dont like people going to tax free states (like your hero and NYS)

Is your DL legally valid or are you required to change it to NV? (nothing to do with the tax question but something you may want to check)
