A handyman in NY is charging me sales tax on the entire invoice, including labor (general repairs and painting) and materials. Is that correct?
If you don't care why would you comment?

Anyone familiar with statutory employee status?
Employee is requesting me to classify him as such. -Is there any law prohibiting me from classifying standard employee as such?

A 24 yo child living at parents home who made 14,600 in unemployment. Besides the unemployment the child made less than 4,300 (which would allow him to be claimed as a dependent). First question is, does unemployment count toward the 4,300 that would remove him from being a dependent?

If yes, does the 10,200 of unemployment that became non taxable in 2020 count toward the 4,300? Because its possible that on his Schedule C he may have had a loss which would put him under the 4,300 if the 10,200 doesn't count.
I'm not who you think I am.

The Internal Revenue Service is planning to delay the April 15 tax filing deadline by about one month, giving taxpayers additional time to file returns and pay any outstanding levies. The IRS is still figuring out what the final deadline will be. The agency is considering setting the filing deadline either on May 15 or May 17. (Bloomberg News)

Anyone familiar with the $7,000 family leave credit?
Is it possible to take even if someone was on unemployment in 2020, or not?

Anyone know, a usa citizen living abroad, filed as a single filer for the last few years, now in order to get the stimulus check for his kids he wants to add them to his tax return,
1)wil it raise to many unwanted questions as to why he only added his kids now ?
2) he has filed for 2020 and received his cheque already, can he still update it and add the kids ?
3)if yes will they automatically send the stimulus cheque for the kids ?

What were the reasons for not including the kids in the first place and how old are these kids?

Maybe best to post this in the unemployment thread.
In which state is his claim?
