I always pay tax and booking fee. By referring people (and using the credit), I'm essentially getting those for free and paying full price for the food I'm getting.

I don't consider that to be a deal worth advertising as a "refer your friends" program. Especially:

Exactly, there are exact rules. I've had co-riders bring one suitcase per person in the past. The idea is that you should always assume there will be another large suitcase in the car, especially for trips to the airport. Statistically there might be trips where there won't be room but I think the chance is very slim if you only have one bag.
