None of us are using GC. The prices are sometimes cheaper for either of us. It's not one getting a higher price every time and the other one lower

Anyone recently noticed that uber wait time allowance is costing us extra? From a few cents to $2+ per ride!
Problem is the GPS stars counting the minutes when the car is on location, then it stops when the driver accepts the passenger. Sometimes you need to search for the car or If you have a baby in a doona takes a few minutes to get settled and the bill ends up being much more then quoted!!

Either the drivers become smarter and only accept the passenger when he is fully ready inside the vehicle or uber lowered the wait time.

I noticed this 2-3 months ago in the final email and make sure to dispute the wait time fee each time in the app. Mabey it's time to switch to Lyft which gives 5 minutes wait instead of 2.

Is the current Uber referral rider deal only $2 off first 3 three rides.
Is there any better deals out there?

End of FRUBER?

Currently only available in Arizona, which probably won't go so well, it might take a while till it affects Fruber. If it will.

I would assume they decided to start in Arizona because they feel they have a market over there

Uber’s stock price tumbled Friday after Britain’s top court said its drivers should be treated as “workers” rather than independent contractors.
Shares in the ride-hailing giant slid 1.6 percent in premarket trading to $58.07 as of 9:17 a.m. following the UK Supreme Court’s ruling, which deemed Uber drivers eligible for protections such as a minimum wage and paid leave.
The decision dealt a blow to Uber’s argument that its drivers are independent contractors who aren’t entitled to such benefits — a claim central to the company’s business model.

It's a bigger discussion but the existing structure of labor laws doesn't fit the gig economy. If you drive full time for Uber, Lyft, and some other local competitors, should they each have to give you benefits and paid leave?

Having 3 apps open at the same time while driving and looking for fares, doesn’t make you “working” full time for each of them (it’s a single “40 hours a week” being driven).

If you stick to 1, I hear the argument. The premise of multiple is independence.

Think of it this way, if you’re “driving as an employee for all 3 full time”, how would you submit a mileage reimbursement claim form?

But the way the laws are being applied that doesn’t matter. How would Uber even know you’re also working for the competition?

Uber agreed to consider all UK drivers as employees with minimum wage, pension, and paid vacation. Perhaps they realized a barrier of entry for new competitors is more valuable to them than cheap labor, as others suggested motivates Facebook to lobby for more regulation.

One thing is for sure, this does not bode well for the consumer.
