I've gotten the charge a few times and have had 100% success getting it refunded after I complained to uber that the driver was taking much longer than the estimated time to get to me.

From Uber's site:

"You may cancel your request without charge for up to 5 minutes after your initial request.

Cancellations made after 5 minutes will incur a fee to compensate your driver for his or her time.

Please note: if your driver is running more than 5 minutes behind the provided ETA, you will not be charged a cancellation fee."

I've had 2 drivers cancel on me on the same day (after waiting more than 5 minutes on each) and got a $10 credit after contacting Uber.

How do I use uber to pick up a food order and bring it to me. I'm assuming that I need to call the driver to let them know what is going on? And is it just like ordering a regular uber or is it some other service?

Regular Uber.

Call in order to restaurant and pre-pay. Have them double seal it if you have kashrus concerns. When the food is ready for pickup, drop a pin at the restaurant and request an Uber. Once driver is assigned, call driver and explain to them what you're doing and ask them to go inside the restaurant and pick up the order under your name and bring it to your destination - you can also put destination into Uber for that. (I know some people have arrange with the restaurant to have them bring the order out to the car instead of asking the driver to go in, but that requires further coordination, and so far I've never gotten any backlash from asking the driver to go in, so this is how I do it.)

I signed up for uber while in canada. It says my referral code will be for $20 Canadian.  Will it switch to USD when I get back to the States?

Somehow, my account got opened as a Canadian account and I have a $10 CAD credit. When I emailed them, they changed my account to USA but left the $10 CAD credit. It has not been applied to my rides in USA, so I guess it will be applied when I take a ride in Canada.

No tipping allowed. I did tip once, though, when I vomited all over the uber.

Correct. I think they initially discouraged tipping as well as marketed the tip as included in fare. They got sued for that, and now they say cash tips are permissible. Wish it were an option in the app, Bc then I could expense the tip.

Someone somehow hacked my account and ordered multiple Ubers which I kept canceling (for a fee!!). One went through and he racked up a bill on my CC of about $60. I emailed uber and received no response, is there a CS number I can call, or should I just call up Chase and report fraud on my card?

In your online profile there is a setting for how much to tip. The default is set to 20% but you can set it to whatever you want including no tip. That's what I was asking about.

I believe that's only for uber taxi, and doesn't include uberx or uberblack, unless they changed things
