I've done that before. Though it was a while ago so maybe they've since changed their policies.
Yes they have

Yes. Why would you though? IIRC, there's an extra fee that they charge you for splitting a fare.
I've never been charged a fee for splitting the fare.

Can you split a ride between 2 different accounts? Before I would just tell them to stop, close the ride and ordered uber 1 more time to use free rides for the area.

You can split regular rides. There's an option while you're in middle of a trip.

Not sure how it handles free credits. Although I don't see why there would be an issue. Maybe somebody with experience in this specific scenario can chime in.

How soon after I refer my wife and she takes her first trip, will the $15 referral be available to use in my account? Is it instantaneous?

I would call when I am at the exit door, as you do speak to the driver, so he knows exactly where you are and what you are wearing...to pick you up.

I would give him the further destination but it doesnt matter. Either way you dont need your phone with you to complete the payment, so the phone can get out before the ride is over.
-1 In my experience, when I do that, they get confused when you give a new (first) destination. Instead, give the first stop so that they can get going as soon as you get in, and on the way, go into the app and change the destination. The driver will get your updated destination, but after the first one is already in his GPS.

I kept the final destination, and just showed the driver manually how to stop first at the first stop.

Of course, that works too. I was just adding that it works to change the destination while in the car.
