I need to take an über from Monsey to EWR, anyone have experience with this i.e. Can I assume it will be available, how much should I expect to pay.

Will be available in Monsey. Expect 10-20 minute wait for the driver and it will charge you ~$40.

You say this from experience? I don't want to miss my flight because there wasn't one available (or have to pay a hefty price to mottys)

Where did you see an estimate for $40? Mine came up as $112-145

I think that you would need to cross the state line to request a Uber and get such a low price. I do not see any Ubers in Monsey.

Maybe depends on the time of day. It's roughly $1/minute for uber IME

I've never taken an uber from Monsey to Newark but have taken ubers from Monsey to Teaneck

Can't generalize this way, it depends of the market and the time/distance. This trip is mostly highway so costs will be higher.

Monsey to Teaneck is mostly highway. I'll agree that pricing fluctuates, but bottom line is you can get an uber in Monsey

ETA: I take back that $1/minute. Looked over my receipts and saw that my ~1hr uber rides are usually ~90 (without tolls) (highway driving)

I still wouldn't say that there is a guarantee to get a Uber in Monsey.

What? I've taken more than 20 ubers from Monsey in the last 6 months. 9am, 3pm, 10pm, 2am. By now, there are Uber drivers living in Suffern that travel into manhattan every day. Granted you'll have a wait like I previously posted.

Uber in Rockland is a Rip off. At least 65% the price of a taxi.

ETA: More expensive than a taxi.
My above comment was based on pricing as of 4 months ago. Pricing has drastically improved.
Uber Monsey Local seems to be $7-$10
La Familia Charges $6 or $7 depending where you are going.
Motty's charges $7-10 on Monsey Local.

However Monsey to Suffern or New City is still 50% more than a taxi.

65% the price of a taxi is pretty good.
That would be 35% less than a taxi.

My father is a real Uber fan. Mostly good experiences. Until the past week when he used Uber to take him to JFK airport. He got in to the car and all he is getting is a piece of paper with a note from the driver "I am deaf, if you want anything important please tap my back"  ::) :-\ :-X

The whole trip was a real nightmare. Took him like 80to minutes from Brooklyn to JFK with no traffic. He didn't hear any other cars beeping. My father Bentched Goymel just that he survived that ride.

I just had a similar experience today and opened this thread to post about it. Interestingly your post was one of the first I saw. Anyhow, see attached image.

I can assure you there was nothing funny about it. I almost canceled it, but my curiosity got the better of me. I took the ride with him.

Having an issue with a charge. The usual exchange of emails isn't helpful.

Does anyone have an email address or number to get this resolved?

Tell them you're switching to Lyft.
