Today through Sunday, October 5th, you can enjoy 10 free rides (up to $20/ride) in Ottawa. Cruise around town with the safest, most cost-effective ride in the city, all at the tap of a button.

Your right

I didnt even check but was referring to an email I got today from Uber saying this was new.

Thats what companies do when they want you to start using your MR for rides (and that a bad redemption) they add thing to make it sound good.

Anyone want to try this: http://www.dansdeals.com/archives/53222

And then buying several uber gift cards and applying them to your account to see if you get the credit?
Smallest GC is $25, but still a nice way to save on Uber.

It does say "for a single ride", but I assume that just means a single charge. I think it would work. I'm willing to try it.

Also am willing to try. Usually when I order an uber I don't want to think about the card I'm using. Also, I'm assuming you can apply multiple GC to one ride.

That's what we're trying to find out.
If you can you can effectively lock in lots of future savings if you have multiple AMEX cards.

Hmm, I'm hoping gift cards don't reduce the fare on your receive and are just treated like a method of payment. I Uber a lot for work and it would be a shame if my company wouldn't reimburse me because my fares are $0.

No, renting a car next week so I doubt I'll be ubering. But theres no indication that the $50 is 2 $25 credits and I doubt it's $50 off a ride up to $50.
