They can prove you're probably the same person, by showing it's the same device, and that all of these "different people"'s trips mysteriously connect to one another.

Because sometimes, the only reason you're taking that $20 ride is because you know it's free (i.e. if you knew up front that it would cost money, you would've borrowed someone's car and driven yourself, for example).

IME if they dont like what you're doing they shut you down...they will not go back and charge for a past ride, once you rode free you will not get charged
