My Yeshiva.
Which one? (Unless that's personal.) I figured it was a yeshiva. No shul is finishing that late.
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

Why do we have chazunus? When did it start?

Most people I talked to in shul today would prefer a davening with basically no chazunus at all. Seems like its a fairly new thing in Judaism.

At the other end of America

Shachris/Musaf - 9:30-12:40
Mincha/Ne'ilah - 5:30-8:01

We had a minyan for Kol Nidrei and for Leining of Shachris!

You think they had chazunus more than a few hundred years ago?

Now you have me so curious. I wonder how the length of davening has developed through the ages.

4:40-8:10 (end of kiddush levanah)
We had a drasha in between mincha/nielah and ~6-7 min of dancing after shofar before maariv

We had a minyan for Kol Nidrei and for Leining of Shachris!
For the first time in my life I davened Kol Nidrei and Neilah without a minyan (we had 9 for Kol Nidrei and 11 for Neilah but they weren't all Jewish).

Shacharis/Musaf I davened at a local Nusach Ashkenazi Shul (another first for me).

Now you have me so curious. I wonder how the length of davening has developed through the ages.
If you look through the poskim/seforim it is brought down to be maarich in yk davening. From others it seems that YK Davening lasted all day.
In my machzor there was a discussion about saying ein kelokeinu, one sefer brought down said that since there is no time to say it, one can say it "whilst the chazzan is menagein hayom teamzeinu"

Do most people say it at the end of the morning service? In Chabad we only say it at the end of the day.
