Its not only the sugar in the wine that has calories, but the alcohol. Dry wine is probably better than sweet but I doubt that it has less carbs than the low carb Grape Juice. Anyways, wine is officially not allowed according to Dukan. I'm not sure about Atkins though.
From what I remember my diet guy told me that dry haves mamesh no carbs. And about the calories, my diet does not really look on that, the main think is to eat low carb and enough fat.
You can say what you think when you think what you say.

No alcohol on Atkins.
Use the low carb grape juice and drink the minimum shiur.
FYI - I know some people who have asked this shaale and they make kiddush on challa in order to avoid having to drink grape juice or wine.
Challah and matza have extremely similar carb counts. The only difference is that challah is more addictive and harder to stop eating. There are some recipes online for low carb challah but it is made with vital wheat gluten which according to most poskim is shehakol not hamotzi (-;

Depends at what stage in the diet. In induction no alcohol. Once you transition into phase 2/3 then if it doesn't interfere with weight loss it's OK.
If you read their forums a lot of people find that it interferes with weight loss.

But ur right - it is OK in phase 2

For the past five years I've been starting my diet "next week." :)

I finally decided earlier today to start a low-carb diet tomorrow morning.

Nope, sorry :)

I've done it successfully (lost 50+) almost 15 years ago. I tried again a few years ago but it didn't really work out, probably because I really like carbs and don't really like a lot of proteins (without a carb,) but i think this time it'll work because I'm a lot more driven than I was then.
I just caught up on this thread now, last time I read it the discussion was about diet sodas.

My sister goes to Overeaters Anonymous.  They use the 'grey sheet' diet.  No carbs, lots of vegetables.  When you really stick to it, it works.  Its emphasis is on eating regularly. Lots of veggies to fill you up: cooked, fried, roasted, raw....

Why do married men gain weight? I'm celebrating my first anniversary and I noticed a little extra weight. My diet/exercise habits really didn't change.

Not all do.
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half
