My wife convinced me to try spinning with her....my legs literally buckled from under me when I got off the bike.

Can anyone tell me a replacement to Fiber One?
Looking for another cereal with about the same, or less, amount of calories per serving and about the same, or more, fiber.
The only reason I'm looking to replace it is because I'm anti-aspartame which I just found out it contains...

Here is the nutritional label for Fiber One:

Just wanted to chime in. I lost 23 lbs in about two months on the "Dukan diet", which is based on Atkins but without the high fat. It's pretty strict with lots of rules but surprisingly not as difficult as I first thought. Anyways, I got another 36 lbs to go...
Didn't see this thread in a while! Just to update I lost already 43 lbs. Still want to lose another 15 lbs. Quite a few people saw my results and are now losing weight on the Dukan Diet. So if anyone's seriously interested in shredding some weight, check it out!

I believe they have various types. Which one compares to the above description I posted?

No idea. I eat it because it tastes good :) but I know people eat it for health/diet reasons too.

Shredded Wheat
If you want the cereal type make sure it says mini. Once we bought it and there were like 9 pieces in the box - each was big enough to fill a bowl.

Wow! What do you do about shabbos?
Shabbos koidesh is shabbos koidesh. But I limit myself to one slice challah a seuda, drink low carb grape juice, eat A&B carb free gefilte fish, and sugar free chrein. So fish, soup, chicken and meat are fine. I just stay away from potato kugel and any other starchy/sugary stuff.
Although I do cheat with my alcohol consumption and the occasional piece of cake on Shabbos, which I would never eat through the week. So let's say you really wanna eat something scrumptious put it away for Shabbos. But of course with a limit and monitor yourself not to gain more than three pounds on Shabbos, so like this when you lose five pounds during the week you have a net loss of two pounds a week consistently.

Do you follow the suggested half hour walk every day too? And you can really eat an unlimited amount of the approved foods? If yes, I think I'm sold...

@ kk
100% - you need to restrict your carb intake to less than 50g. However the side benefits of keeping that edge are huge. Once your body is in ketosis then you have energy, clear thought, no "carb crash", "Carb block" falling asleep after eating - none of that.
All dieting is hard - and everyone finds the mehalech which works for them. I found it easier to restrict carb intake while eating 2000 calories of protein a day than restricting calorie intake to 1500.
Atkins works. It really does. Like all diets - there is the potential for "yo-yo-ing" however no more so than with a calorie restricted diet.
The other big maale of ketosis/low carb is that you can actually test your body if it is in ketosis - so you can monitor your potential weight loss without resorting to the scale every two minutes. Psychologically this can be a big motivator.
Happy to answer pm's on this topic.
How can you test to see if you're in ketosis? By checking your blood sugar?

And what stage are you considered ketosis? <60?

I'm pretty sure you have to test your urine.

I don't exercise regularly at all but I'm not proud of it. I should. I suspect that for the final 13 pounds I'll need to do the exercise more religiously.
You can eat an unlimited amount of low fat protein. It's very very important, never to be hungry. So you should always have backup food available such as plain Greek yogurt, strawberry light geek yogurt, fish, reduced fat American cheese and string cheese, and even diet cheese cake. ( I like "say cheese").
But keep in mind, that weight loss, in my experience, works quicker if you don't eat as much even from allowed foods. So if I eat fish for supper instead of beef I lose more. But it's more important not to be hungry.
Also don't forget to drink water and eat the allowed amount of oat bran which is a must on Dukan.

I checked it out  to your credit, and signed up for it. The first few days are soo hard. I hope it'll work.

The second day of the attack phase is the most difficult and you might feel headaches. But after that it should be OK. I'm here for your questions and there's a lot of info and tips online so Google away! I also recommend reading the Dukan book which you can order used on Amazon for four dollars. It's an easy and fun read.
Good luck!

Rivkao - I'm also going to sign up. Maybe after shavuos though...  :-\

Quaker oat bran is fine? I can just dump it in a yogurt and be done with it?
