Any body have any suggestions/ experience with the dealers in lakewood ? I heard a guy ami katz sells very cheap ...like 13200 for a 12 camry with 20kto 30k

Ami katz is good (no personal experience with him)
Just keep in mind all his cars are ex-rentals (I think from enterprise) usually with some minor damage, could be only cosmetic.
I don't believe you can check out the car first. (Unless he has it in his driveway)

+1 on Lkwd Auto, and its worth to pay the extra margin to get it from Lkwd Auto.

who pays 'extra margin'?

They're actually both competitively priced and reputable.
Esp if you're not buying a standard used (i.e. off-lease Accord/Camry/Odyssey/Sienna/Pilot), it always pays to shop around.

I personally would, as a good number of people don't treat rentals well.

Old argument. Well maintained vs likely/possible abuse.
But the truth is, you have the same problem with off-lease vehicles. Potential cheap repair jobs and abuse. Speak to people who lease their cars and ask about the TLC their vehicles receive. You have to do your due diligence and not just write it off cuz it's a rental...
Although my theory is, if you're going to be buying a minivan, most minivan renters are not hormone-fueled male drivers in their teens/early 20s, or stressed out BMG guys coming back from a bad date...

Agreed. How about buying a used car off someone who bought it brand new?

Do you know them personally? Do they have maintenance records or maintenance records showing on Carfax?
Do they have teenagers?

I believe they do an inspection at Lipa's (his brother's auto repair place next door).

I've purchased from iCar, and acted on my sister's behalf purchasing from Motti's. Both wonderful experiences. I went to Lakewood Auto, while shopping around, and was very happy there, too...they just did not have what I needed. In my case, Ford E-350 with around 90k, for $8900. In my sister's, a 05 Sienna, fully loaded with around 100k, for around $10k (IIRC).

I bought a 09 camry from auction former rental car 3 yrs ago, 40,000 miles later havnt had any problems beyond normal wear & tear
