Microsoft Tech Support
« on: December 22, 2013, 07:14:26 AM »
I'm having a big technical problem with a Microsoft product (particularly, Visual Studio).

I believe the issue is on Microsoft's end. So I contacted tech support and they told me they would charge $259.00 to resolve the issue (regardless of how long it takes) but I wouldn't be charged if it was Microsoft's fault.
However, I don't totally trust their judgement in this regard. If there product does not work as reasonably expected, or consistently with other products, I consider that their fault. They might not.

I feel like there's a large enough chance that they will try to extort the $259 from me.

My question is: Does anyone have experience fighting a credit card charge for tech support?
Would I be able to call American Express and dispute the charge and get refunded?

Did you research/Google the issue?
If you're the only one with this problem then it may very well be an issue on your end, if others have had the same issue then In all likelihood someone will post a fix online

Can't get Team Foundation Server to work. I've tried everything I can think of + whatever Google can spit out

What happens exactly? I can try to replicate it on my environment to see if I get the same problem.
