Laptop in Israel

Anyone here know how to charge an American laptop in Israel? Can I just use a converter or do I need one of those fancy transformer things???

usually just  a 3 shekel converter  to be sure check the cord and make sure it says 100v-240v

It's not called a converter, it's called an adapter. A converter will convert the voltage from 220-240 to 110-120. You just need an adapter that will make the plug the right size to fit, since basically every laptop charger is rated for 110-240 although you should check just to be sure.

Well it depends what kinda hotel your talking about.
If it is one that gives anyone who walks in a master key to the building, I would say no.

If they have a guard by the door, and you can opt out on room service to only when your there, I would say yes.

Crown Plaza, Jerusalem.  I was worried about housekeeping..  Is that usually a problem?
