FOR PRICELINE RESERVATIONS WITH BOOKING FAILURE
Call Priceline 1800-259-2091 dial 3 and then 1 and ask for the contract receipt.
Then fax the contract to Delta with your name, email and phone number to 1801-575-3000
UPDATE: It is no longer necessary to fax in anything to Delta. Just call Delta direct, with the priceline conf number, ask for a supervisor, and they are honoring all tickets! ;D

Good Job! You deserve it as OP. If you didn't get it would would have to set up a DDF OP fund to get you the tickets!

I would have donated....thanks for posting and glad you got them honored!

Yes.

They had to recreate a whole new ticket for me at 25$

Did they give you business class as well?

How did they verify that you paid $25 for the original tickets.

I have a business class flight - JFK to LAS I do not need(since i booked a second one when priceline wouldn't confirm).    Ideally, I want to give this to my sister - is there a way to change names(even with a fee?)

Else my options are to cancel by evening tomorrow, and get my $80 back(2 tickets) --  or hold on to them, and somehow do a change with Delta to future days(not sure if this would be possible).
Any thoughts?

I just had another conversation with Delta, and they said there's no way they're honorning my Orbitz booking. It's not their problem since it was never ticketed by Orbitz.

The way I got around was that Orbitz sent an email blaming the "cancellation" on the lack of availability, I went to Delta.com and found plenty of seats. Her answer was that the availability was the fare had gone up and there were no more tickets available at that cost. When she said that I said so what about all the media attention saying you were going to honor it, when I said that she changed her tone and immediately helped me out...

how about writing to the wall street journal and telling them what delta/priceline is trying to pull off?

He is saying that if I booked a ticket under my name and do not end up needing to use it, I should give it to you. In order to use it, you then also purchase a FULLY REFUNDABLE ticket and check in at the airport....and pass through security with your refundable ticket. Then once through security, you will use the ticket I gave you at the gate. Then you cancel the refundable ticket and get a full refund.....

I don't see how this would really work, unless people have done it before and obviously you would need two one way tickets to make it work.

Why?

Why?
Because on the return you would also need a ticket in your name to get through security (the one you used on the 1st flight has already been canceled/refunded so not valid anymore)

But I guess booking another refundable ticket for the way back should do the trick

Why?

Because you need to cancel the flight within 24 hours of the first leg.

Yes when using this method, you need to re-book (the refundable ticket) before each flight.

Using this method, I've had gate agents look at my ticket and say, "Have a safe flight, Mr. LA2NYC."  If I'm trying to give my ticket to a female and I have a very masculine name (John, Robert, Henry, etc), is anyone worried the gate agent will see that and call the female (person I gave the ticket to) out?

I wander what the consequences would be, if at arrival somebody for whatever reason asked you for ID and realized that you flew in someone else's name?

Does anyone know Delta's rules with making changes to (flexible) C class tickets? Is there any way to change the dates of (one of) my ticket without paying the $4k difference in fares? I can get a date change to work online for the return leg but can't seem to get it to work for the departing leg.
