FOR PRICELINE RESERVATIONS WITH BOOKING FAILURE
Call Priceline 1800-259-2091 dial 3 and then 1 and ask for the contract receipt.
Then fax the contract to Delta with your name, email and phone number to 1801-575-3000
UPDATE: It is no longer necessary to fax in anything to Delta. Just call Delta direct, with the priceline conf number, ask for a supervisor, and they are honoring all tickets! ;D

Because you need to cancel the flight within 24 hours of the first leg.
Ohhhh I thought you were talking about the original ticket....

And even the refundable ticket does not have to be OW. You can even do a 3 leg ticket.... you anyway cancel it...

For those with an itinerary number on Priceline but then had the ticket cancelled - any way to get Delta to honor these, as they prevented Priceline from issuing the ticket even though all information was inputted and the ticket was "purchased"?

I wander what the consequences would be, if at arrival somebody for whatever reason asked you for ID and realized that you flew in someone else's name?
They will sent you right back.

how about writing to the wall street journal and telling them what delta/priceline is trying to pull off?

I sent some emails to authors of some of the newspaper articles. I recommend that others do the same.

I really am starting to think that these mistakes might be a little more planned than they let on. Think about all the press and buzz Delta generated today. I don't know the actual cost of flying a passenger but advertising and PR cost money as well. Price "mistake" plus the free PR might be offsetting. I am definitely not complaining as I was able to book these tickets. Just a thought....

You are nuts.
My ticket without the taxes was $18x4 people. They lose a ton of money. Advertisement is much cheaper.

And here's the lovely response that I got from Orbitz. I think it's safe to say they're not overly concerned about this issue.

Thank you for including Orbitz in your travel plans.

We are terrible sorry to hear that Orbitz was not able to honor the fare that was offered in our web site. Let me give you an explanation about the situation we experienced today.

Delta airlines system had issues and some fares were misfiled, resulting in unreasonably low fares. Unfortunately we were not able to honor the fare since this was not valid and Delta airlines did not allow Orbitz to issue any ticket.

We appreciate your business and hope you will give us another opportunity to fully restore your confidence in our products and services.

I don't think Orbitz has cancelled any "actual tickets", but the confirmed some bookings and then Delta told them not to ticket them, so Orbitz cancelled them. I think there would be a rock-solid case if Orbitz had issued ticket numbers and then cancelled them, but that doesn't mean that a confirmation email and pending credit card charge are not sufficient.

who recreated a new ticket for you? orbitz or delta? i'm in the same boat. they canceled my ticket. orbitz doesn't care and delta doesn't want honor it. did you have a record of your ticket numbers?
