FOR PRICELINE RESERVATIONS WITH BOOKING FAILURE
Call Priceline 1800-259-2091 dial 3 and then 1 and ask for the contract receipt.
Then fax the contract to Delta with your name, email and phone number to 1801-575-3000
UPDATE: It is no longer necessary to fax in anything to Delta. Just call Delta direct, with the priceline conf number, ask for a supervisor, and they are honoring all tickets! ;D

Especially because of the number of people who seems to have gotten it!

People are starting to catch on. Book now, figure out later.
This was also Domestic destinations and easier for people to jump on.

Precisely because of that. The other part is of course the Business/First thingy.
A glitch to Israel with the same amount of people ticketed would have ranked higher.
Just imagine if this would have lasted as long as some of the other glitches.

+1 Much easier to booking a weekend in LA than a week in Milan or Israel etc.

Honestly, I think the biggest difference was the price point. Easy to say: what the heck it's $50 a person.

I don't see how this DOT regs will stay in place at the current levels. It neither makes sense nor is fair. An airline should have the permission to cancel a flat out error like this one IMO. Dropping YQ can be up for debate, but being forced to honor a J ticket for $100 that goes for 5k seems cruel to me.

Of course. I wasn't really planning to go to Montreal this winter for various reasons. Now, this came, and I said why not.
And going to Israel for a family, even if it's only $461, it's still a big expense.

I envision the airline industry launching a big lobbying effort to change the regulations. I can see them changing to some extent too.
We'll miss the good old affordable flying days (AKA the golden days of aviation... :D).

Delta didn't have to honor all these unconfirmed bookings.
It's just good PR.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

I don't think the DOT requires Delta to be as accommodating as they are being.

That might be why they're going out of their way to issue as many tickets as possible now

I don't see how it's good PR. Makes them seem like fools.

The economy tickets aren't hurting them so much, because many of the people weren't going to fly otherwise and are filling up flights that aren't full to start with.

And the first class pillows are gonna break the bank?

Might not. The loss is bigger because the cost is bigger. And there is this thing hurting them about giving first class tickets for bupkes...

+1

I have been on hold for ~ an hour to speak with a supervisor.

Seems that all the call reps are waiting for supervisors to speak with people.
