Thinking of staying at the Beaches in January.

The resort says "kosher food available upon request".

Anyone know if it's better than bringing Pom meals, worse, or about the same?

Probably much worse.  It is probably airplane food judging based on an experience I had at Atlantis

Yes. At Atlantis I brought my own food and they did a great job warming it for us.

However, beaches is a "all inclusive" , so I'd rather not bring $500+ in meals if they have decent meals there.

Thanks

FYI, It was announced at the kinus hashluchim that Chabad is opening in Turks and Caicos.

Here is the response I got from the hotel.....

We are not a certified kosher property which means we do not have a kosher kitchen, nor do we have kosher equipment’s, pots, pans, crockery, glass ware etc.,

We have a freezer stocked with kosher meat, chicken and burgers.
How we cook the meats is to simply season it, wrap it in foil and serve them in foil, being a non-kosher property and for kosher religious reasons we do not cut up the meat or do anything further to it, we simply season, wrap, cook and serve, that way the client knows it has not touched any other cooking surface which would make it non-kosher, this technique will work for the client depending on how religious they are, if they are strict kosher this will not be enough, however if they are happy with this style and they eat their salads and regular vegetable sides etc. from the buffet or menu then fine we can offer the kosher meats we carry,

I am planning a trip for the end of January and am kinda surprised at the prices and lack of options of hotels. I am not sure whether it is worth going to a cheaper hotel that is not at grace bay beach, as I understand that is the nicest part of the island. Any advice?

The island is very small, I actually biked it.

I don't think it really matters where you stay.

My advice is to try your best to stay by grace bay.  I accidentally stayed on this Island (you can read my TR if interested) and decided to just book the cheapest place which was the opposite end of the island, and the beaches there were not nice.

What I do recommend is getting a car/bike/taxi and go to the private beach near chalk sound, I am blanking on the name-it is not actually private, but it is off the beaten path and the most amazing thing ever

No quarantine, but you do need a PCR test from within 5 days.
